Friend Makin' Monday Advice

A couple of weeks ago I left a suggestion for Friend Makin' Monday over at All That Is Good. So, today I am answering my own question. I mainly wanted to hear everyone else’s response.

Some of the best advice I ever received was from another girl in Nancy’s Tuesday Night Bible Study. Go to the throne before you go to the phone.

I now think of this advice in a couple of different ways. The original meaning was where do you go when you need help or advice? Do you go to God first or phone a friend?

I also think about it in terms of when issues arise with people. I am such an “immediate” kind of person that is hard for me to not immediately phone (or email) the person to discuss the matter. I have learned that it is always better to pray about it first.

Love that advice- how often do we immediately go to a friend or a spouse instead of taking it to God??

But I have to admit, and forgive me b/c I am pregnant- when I first read your advice, I thought, "yes! I always end up having to go to the potty when I get on the phone with someone!" Hopefully, this urge will pass!

Hee Hee!!

Have a great week!

I really like that! Thanks for sharing...sometimes the one who can help the most is there for us, we just need to kneel!

Have a great night!

Ah, that's so good, Renee! I'm so quick to pick up the phone to talk to girlfriends, when I should be talking to the "ultimate friend"!

Great topic -- so glad you suggested it!
