Day One at Sesame Place

The last week has been a flurry of activity. I will go back and fill in some of the other details but I want to start by documenting the first day of our trip to Sesame Place. Nancy and I took the kids there on Monday and Tuesday this week.
It was about 75 degrees when we got there so we decided to do all the water rides since we knew it would be colder on Tuesday. We missed getting a picture of the first two waterslides we did.
Nancy and Ainsley at Teeny Tiny Tidal Wave.
We saw the parade at 2:00 and the kids loved seeing all of the characters.
Of course Elmo is always a favorite.
The park was not very crowded and we had a great spot to watch the parade.
An up-close photo of Grover.

This area is new this year. It is very similar to the big bucket area at Great Wolf but the bucket is smaller and dumps more often. When we were caught directly under it, I was really glad it held less water. Wesley and Lydia loved going down the slides by themselves; I just had to help Lydia get out at the bottom. These slides are shorter and slower than the ones at Great Wolf.
Here is the bucket dumping. The Count does a count down to warn everyone.
It was a little cold in the water. Here are the kids warming up and resting.
Here is a cute little slide.
The kids liked the lazy river but Lydia only wanted to go around once which was fine with me. Nancy went a second time with Ainsley and Wesley.
Wesley liked the water spraying on him but Ainsley didn't so Nancy carefully maneuvered her around the obstacles. I didn't like the water spraying on me either because it was cold.
Since we were there two years ago, they have added a very nice carousel.
When we rode the Flyin' Fish. Wesley waited very patiently the first day for me to ride with Lydia and then I waited with Lydia and Ainsley while Nancy rode with Wesley. I was so proud of Wesley for waiting for us the first day. Unfortunately it didn't go as well on the second day. On the second try that day, he did beautifully once again.

The girls waiting patiently.
The kids loved the Peek-a-Bug ride.
Lydia says one of her favorite things was Grover's World Twirl (the tea cups). I spun the cup as fast as good. When my arms got tired and I stopped to rest, Wesley complained, "We are slowing down. We are slowing down."
The kids enjoyed meeting Big Bird. The kids got unlimited time on Ernie's Big Bed (an open moonbounce). Since no one was waiting in line the kids got to jump for a very long time. The young guy working there chased them and helped tire them out.
All the kids got a special lollipop because Lydia went poopy in the potty. She really does better out in public sometimes. After seven hours at the park, it was time to head out. I booked our hotel on Priceline. The hotel is within sight of the park so it was a great location. They happily provided a crib for Lydia free of charge. The kids (and adults) easily fell asleep that night.

LOL I am about to post some of these same rides from our trip to Sea World. I had no idea they were actually from Sesame Place.

HOW FUN! It looks like it was an amazing day. I have this secret, crazy hope that one day I can put a lazy river around my house -- I think lazy rivers are the best! That picture of little Lydia and her lollipop is the cutest - it's bigger than her!

As if Big Bird needed to look taller, put him next to a bunch of preschoolers, good stuff! Looks like you had a great day and lots of activity. Loved the candy sticks that Lydia and Wesley had - they were as tall as the kids.
