The theme was Son Rocks Kids Camp. That theme is stuck in all of our heads because the kids love singing the theme song and they keep requesting to listen to the CD they received the first day.
The program centered around five truths: Accepted by Jesus, Protected by Jesus, Saved by Jesus, Forgiven by Jesus, and Living for Jesus.
Wesley was able to retell the stories, especially the one about Jesus walking on water (Matthew 14:13-36). With this one, he could really remember the details.
Each day the kids had fun snacks that were camping related. The first one was blue jello, a gummy worm with a little licorice (I think) and a pretzel for a fishing rod. One day they had in Wesley's words, "real little hotdogs". They also had s'mores with marshmallow fluff (I think). On Friday they had ice cream.
The kids also did fun crafts and played outside. On Friday there was a moon bounce.
Needless to say, Lydia came home exhausted. She and Wesley had a blast.
On Thursday night there was a program for parents. It was so sweet to see and hear the kids worshiping God.
Lydia loved being on stage. (Yes, I know I need to read the manual for my D-SLR).

Wow, that is really cool. Sounds like a fabulous program and I bet it melted your heart to hear Wesley come home and re-tell you the stories. Love those cuties!
That is so cool they had a program for Lydia! So many VBS start with kinder out here. This was just our first year participating!
So much fun! It's amazing how much they will remember from VBS -- good times! Wesley looks like he's singing his little heart out!
