The other night the kids had a playdate at our house with some of our neighbors. Wesley and Alexandra are the same age and Lydia and Jonathan are the same age. The kids played together for over an hour. I found it very interesting that the kids matched up by gender, not by age, and they played with gender stereotypical toys. The girls and boys talked to each other a little bit but they did not play together.
The girls played with dolls and the girly little people and they played school.

The boys played with trains.

And more trains.

it's funny, this happens with my crew too. My W enjoys playing with "boy toys" like trains and cars ... though maybe not as much as she used to. But she will certainly play with the boy stuff. But, if another little girl comes over, they will gravitate to the more girly toys, like dolls and dress-ups.
haha, that is so funny and cute! :)
Hmmm...exactly like our house.
