Winter Wonderland
We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning.
I wanted to go out and take pictures right away before the snow started falling off the trees.
Lydia didn't want to go for a walk in the snow so I left her with my next door neighbor and took the neighbor's dog for a walk. Who knew a dog wouldn't cooperate for a photo.
The park was beautiful.
I think the dog was hoping to get in the water.
Every time I stopped to take pictures, the dog had fun plowing through the snow on her side. She was funny to watch.
Wesley also had fun walking in the snow.
A pretty scene as we walked up the big hill.
Wesley asked if he could play on the playground. I said no but maybe I should have said yes.
We didn't shovel our driveway; the snow all melted away from the driveway and sidewalks today. The forecast for this weekend is, "We're talking about significant accumulations" and "Most of the areas are probably going to see an excess of a foot. There are going to be some spots where it will be closer to 2 feet of snow when everything is said and done." We will see.

Box of Fun for a Craft Challenged Mom
I am not crafty. I never have been. My kids love to do craft projects but often I don't know where to start. I have gotten some ideas from books and I have bought some kits at the craft store.
For Christmas, Lydia received a very cool gift from her Grandma. She was so excited to have "projects" to do at home.
Lydia liked crumbling the tissue paper and putting it on the sticky paper.

Bible Study Inspiration
Today for Friend Making Monday Amber is asking, "What inspires you?" If you want to participate go here.
I am often inspired by friends. I am inspired by the way they play with their kids and care for their husbands and manage their homes. I am often inspired by their walks with Jesus.
Recently I was inspired by a friend's facebook update. She mentioned that she had started another Beth Moore Bible Study. After thinking about it, I realized that God was encouraging me to go get one of her studies, Stepping Up.
This study has been a big inspiration for me the last several days. I know it is God's timing that I am doing this study now.

Our Big News
We are expecting a baby at the beginning of August. And for those of you who want to know - no, it wasn't a surprise.
Last week I had an ultrasound, at 12 weeks. The baby was kicking and moving both arms around. The woman who was doing the ultrasound said, "He is really active." The baby looked like a baby - just smaller. Thankfully every thing looked great on the ultrasound. I asked the lady if she could tell if it was a boy or girl and she said, "I can give you my best guess." Then her exact words were, "Look he is saluting."
I thought it was a boy just because I have not felt as bad as when I was pregnant with Lydia.

Who Is This Child?
Sometimes I ask that question when one of my children is misbehaving, but last week I had to ask it because Lydia was fully cooperating with the dentist. Look how wide her mouth is.
At home, I am often holding her down and prying her mouth open. Once she told me, "I only open my mouth wide for Nana." Nana says that Lydia doesn't cooperate with her either. We let her brush first but nothing really seems to work to get her to open wide and let us fully brush her teeth.
Dr. Delaney told me, "She is not a high cavity risk but you should try to brush the bottom front teeth a little more." The assistant asked me, "Is she always this cooperative?" I almost said, "I don't know who this little girl is."
Lydia loved going to the dentist again. She even loved the little suction thing.

Wesley's Turn on the Flow Rider
I cut this second video too short. Right after I stopped recording, everyone waiting in line cheered very loudly for Wesley. He was the smallest kid trying The Flow Rider.
Wesley and Chris did the flow rider twice. The line was starting to get long and we wanted to have more time to play with the kids in the areas.
