Yesterday, my friends truly blessed me on my birthday. A few of them put sweet notes on their blogs that brought tears to me eyes and made me smile. My dear friend Leslie said that she wanted to give me “the gift of time.” She very selflessly stayed home with her two girls (3 ½ and 1 ½) and my kids (3 and 1 ½). She kept them for over three hours while I had lunch with Janet and Michelle and their kids at the Olive G@rden and went shopping. Janet and Michelle’s three year olds were very well behaved and when a minor infraction occurred it didn’t bother me at all; I just thought they were being cute. (It is never as bad when it isn’t your own kids.) Of course, their little babies were just sleeping, eating, and smiling and being adorable.
On Sunday, my parents took me out to lunch for my birthday and when the dessert came with a candle on it for me, Wesley immediately started singing “Happy Birthday.” Thankfully the people around us thought it was cute and they gave him nice compliments. I just sat there in amazement as I stared at him while he was singing. All I could think was, “I can’t believe I have a three year old. I can’t believe I have a sweet little boy who is singing to me.” It was just a very special moment, even if it was a little surreal.
Yesterday when I told him it was my birthday he said, “It is your birthday again?” Last night, I asked him to sing to me again so I could record it with my camera.
Here is Lydia singing.

The videos are so sweet! Now I miss your kids...we've got to find an afternoon to get together (or an evening and we can include the guys).
Oh, what SWEET times!
That's it! I'm bringing at least one kiddo home with me.
Don't you just melt? I love your description of the surreal moment.
Claire says "Isn't that cute!"
