I had just started a load of whites in the washer in hot water and then I went in the kids’ room. A few minutes later, Wesley came in with the kids’ empty laundry basket and said, “It’s empty now.” When I asked him where he put his clothes he said, “In the washing machine.” I ran into the laundry room and opened the washer. He had dumped their clothes in (there weren’t that many but there was a red shirt) and he had put in my new coral colored dress that is supposed to be washed on the gentle cycle in cold water. The water was a light pink color and the whites had already turned pink.
I didn’t get mad at him because this wasn’t deliberate disobedience. I did almost cry over the ruined clothes. Chris will need to buy new undershirts before he wears a white a dress shirt again. We will probably have to buy new white socks to wear with our sneakers very soon. I hope the darks are okay after their dunk in the hot water.
