New Haircut

On Sunday when I complimented an acquaintance at church about her awesome new haircut, she said, "David is very good about helping people change their hairstyles." That was all I needed to hear to motivate me to call David and get a new hairstyle.

I have been unhappy with my hair and the style and the fact that I had to work very hard with the round brush and the hairdryer. I feel like I cheated on my old stylist but I had asked her for to use the razor and thin it out some last time but she didn’t want to it. She gave me a cut that was very hard for me to style.

Tonight, David told me, “You hair is too much of a bubble for your petite frame. You need something dramatically different.” He also said, “You have a lot of hair. A lot of hair.” Fortunately I have very thick hair, but it doesn’t have any body on its own. He also said, "You need to leave the back messy and stop fighting with it." I don't know how easy it will be to get the messy look on my own. He did use a lot of product.

When I got home, Lydia kept pointing at my hair and whispering, “Haircut”. She must have said it a hundred times. Wesley first said he didn’t like and then he said he liked it. Chris said, "It is different and it will have to grow on me. It isn't bad. I think I will like it."

It took David five minutes to style it with the dryer (and diffuser). He said that if I have problems to come back and he will show me how to style it again. I bought the two styling products he used and I hope that helps. So far I like it and if I can style okay I will love it.

I am working on some inward changes with myself also. Well, praying and memorizing scripture about some things. Sometimes it is so much easier to change the outside.

It looks great, Renee! Once, when I got a haircut, Samantha started crying when she looked at me! It didn't help that the stylist blew my hair dry so it looked like a giant mushroom on my head...

Renee', I just was reading Becca's blog and how you have been instrumental in their lives. I am a PTA and also have a son with Ds. I just wanted to stop in and say hello and that I enjoyed reading about your giving that family help and encouragement. That is why I love doing what I do.

Where is DAVID in HAWAII??!!! Hubs and I had a whole discussion tonight about my hair because I want something new!

Ohhh and about your last sentences...yeah...and it's easier to adjust to the outward changes than the inward ones, for me at least. Sigh.........

You look great! My hair is such a raggedy mess ... maybe I'll check out David too :)

So true about it being easier to change the outside than the inside.

Wow! How fun! Renee, you look great. I would love a new hairstyle too but am afraid to get it cut too short; it's taken me so long to grow it long.

Nancy, you're Not going to be the frumpy one in the photos when I'm included. I Love your new haircut, too!
