A "Wild" Day

On Sunday we went to the Animal Kingdom. All the cast members there say, "Have a wild day." We started the day by seeing the Lion King Show which was amazing. The performers were great, especially the "monkeys" who did gymnastics - the high bar, rings, trampoline, and trapeze. We saw this bear after the show. We didn't plan to dress Ainsley and Wesley in coordinating outfits, but they did look rather cute.
We split up from the Powells for awhile and we fed our kids breakfast - ice cream (I wish I was joking) then we saw the bird show. This is a must-see for us because Wesley likes birds so much. Here is with an owl before the show.
We also saw Nemo the Musical which was so wonderful. The show is just amazing. The kids, especially Wesley, were captivated by the 45 minute performance. The next morning, Wesley woke up asking if we could see it again. The show is so good that I would go see it again if we had the extra time.
Lydia fell asleep right after the show and slept through lunch. Wesley is now tall enough for the rapids ride at AK. The cast members measure all of the kids very carefully. If they are between 38 and 42 inches, they can ride in the raft but they get a special orange band around their wrist with a stamp across the band and their arm. This cues the CM at the ride to place a metal safety bar right in front of them while everyone esle only has a lap belt. Wesley loved the rapids. Chris and I rode with him and we all got very wet.
We met up with the Powells again and Ainsley was covered in ice cream. They waited until the afternoon to give her ice cream. Isn't she cute?
My inlaws watched the kids while Chris and I rode Everest; it was pretty cool. We saw the parade at AK at 4:o0. It was entertaining and the kids loved it. I think Wesley just likes waving at people. Right before the park closed at 5:00, we rode the train. Wesley wanted to see if it had a coal car (it didn't) and he got to sit in the engineer's seat and blow the horn.
I really like AK and I was so glad that we would have at least another half day there to do the things we missed on Sunday.
We finished the day at Chef's Mickey's. Once again I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food is for an "american buffet". But we weren't really there for the food. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto all came by our table for lots of photos. (I can't correct red-eye on this lap top so I will have to fix this photo at home. )

Sounds great! Great length for a show too, 45 minutes isn't too long. How exciting for Wesley to be able to ride a new ride!
