Childhood Toys - Friend Makin Monday

Today I am participating in Friend Makin Monday. If you want to join in on the fun, go here.

One of my favorite childhood toys was Candy Land. Now I play it with Wesley.
When I first got the Barbie Townhouse I was disappointed that the pool was painted on the back wall. I was hoping to get a real pool for the dolls. I feel like this was the first time that I was tricked by fancy packaging. I did love the elevator though. I didn't love my barbie dolls but I did love my Strawberry Shortcake dolls, especially Blueberry Muffin. So I used the townhouse for the nice smelling dolls.

I did like the Barbie styling head. I remember playing with this a lot.

My friend Pam and I spent endless hours playing cashier. We loved the duplicate paper where our pretend costumers placed their orders and we loved the adding machine with the paper.

I thought I was the only one who didn't really enjoy her Barbie dolls! I also liked playing with the Barbie styling head, although I became bored with her pretty fast and cut her hair off. lol

Great list...and isn't Candy Land a classic!

I had a Barbie Styling head as well. I would play with that for HOURS at a time. I was convinced I was going to be a hair dresser lol

Oh my goodness!! I totally remember the Barbie Stylin head!! I had forgotten all about that.

I was constantly getting frustrated with the elevator on the Barbie Town house...guess I made it "fly" too much!!

Have a super week!

That Barbie Townhouse ROCKS! You were a lucky girl! I had a real pool, but it got me in lots of trouble b/c it always had water in it and the water would end up on all over the place! My friend's dad made her a Barbie house that we played with forever. I'm pretty sure we were the only girls in 5th grade who still played with Barbies, but we promised that it would be our secret. LOL.

Great list!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

I blame my love for all things hair on The Barbie Styling Head. I was giving "perms" long before I ever went to hair school!

Wow, that's awesome that you still have this stuff. I would have liked to have kept my toys from childhood, but I remember waking up one morning to the sound of my dad loading it all onto a truck to take to the dump. LOLOL Of course, it was stuff that had been sitting in storage for a zillion years, and I was in high school at the time, but I've always been a packrat. Anyway, I had a Barbie styling head, too, and I had a townhouse, but it wasn't anywhere near as sophisticated as the one you have here (no elevator). Bummer about the pool. I also bought a Barbie bubble bath, that made real bubbles when you push a pump button.

Uh oh, I see there's another Becca on here. Funny!
