Mother's Tea

Today Wesley's class had a Mother's Tea. All the moms came (and one grandmother). They were all dressed up and I was dressed to play in the floor for three hours, I mean I was dressed for work.

On the bulletin board, the teacher had signs up that said "I love my mom because..." Check out what Wesley said. This is due to Chris always complimenting the meals I cook (even when he doesn't love them) and teaching Wesley to be grateful for them.

The moms were given corsages - mesh sponges with a small pompom in the middle that we pinned on our shirts. The kids were so excited when we put them on.

Yesterday Wesley told me, "Tomorrow you will come to my class and have tea. The tea is just for the moms and not for the kids." He did enjoy his apple juice and cupcakes. He was thrilled to get a second little cupcake. The teachers spruced up the little tables with table clothes and flowers. The kids clean up their own stuff after snack and lunch and today they cleaned up for their moms also.

The kids gave their moms a handprint.
A sticker on the back brought tears to my eyes. It said, "This gift is for you to remember when I am tall, that once my hand was just this small. Wesley 2009"
Wesley loves his teacher and her assistant. I feel that he has been very blessed to be in their class this spring.
The class did a "reading". Yes, my son is the one who is yelling.

Oh, that looks so sweet! We had our mother's day tea today, too, but I liked the idea of the kids cleaning up after the moms--that's a great one! Also, I would have teared up at the words on the back of the handprint, too!

What a fun way to celebrate Moms! I'm sad that we've outgrown those sweet things... Love the handprint -- that's something you'll keep forever!

Oh how sweet. I love that Chris is teaching Wesley to be so appreciative of you already. Great job Chris.
